Dr. Tommy Fritze
Sports/Performance Psychologist
Dr. Fritze is a Sport/Performance Psychologist and Staff Psychologist at the University of Denver Health & Counseling Center with his role devoted to serving Denver University student-athletes and operating as a liaison to the Athletics Department and the Sports Medicine team. He is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado and is a member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which allows the practice telepsychology in many other US states. He is also a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and is listed in the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Sport Psychology Registry.
Dr. Fritze's personal athletic background includes playing multiple sports through high school, Division I collegiate soccer, and amateur triathlon up to the full Ironman distance. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science, a Master's degree in Sport & Performance Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in behavioral therapy at the University of Denver. Following an internship at the University of Denver, he completed his postdoctoral fellowship with Premier Sport Psychology in Minnesota, which included working with competitive youth athletes, Division I collegiate athletes, and professional and Olympic athletes. He is experienced working with athletes and teams from nearly all sports and age groups.
