Outlaw Partners is the cornerstone of Big Sky PBR, one of the most beloved PBR events all year. The ten-time PBR Event of the Year continues to welcome fans from across the U.S. to experience the beauty of Montana and the exhilaration of bull riding, rodeo, and much more.

“We brought the big Sky PBR here in 2011,” shared Megan Paulson, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Outlaw Partners. “Since that point, we've been trying to find a way to integrate Western sports and just the authentic sport of rodeo and everything that brings with it —the community, the camaraderie, the fans, and the energy from the athletes—to Montana.”

Making a Difference

Outlaw Partners saw an opportunity to not only bring PBR to Montana but to give back to the Western sports community. Since the event’s inception, they have consistently prioritized giving back, infusing their events with a sense of purpose.

“When we started the event, it was a one-day event,” Paulson continued. “Now, we have ten days of event programing, golf tournaments, fundraising, charity auctions, bingo night, all culminating with the rodeo and also PBR bull riding and all of that goes back to charities and non-profits like Western Sports Foundation.”

That commitment to giving back shines in every aspect of Outlaw Partners, from their events to their educational efforts and much more.

Opening the Gate to the West

“As outlaws, we see ourselves as the passport to the Western lifestyle,” explained Josh Timon, chief operating officer for Outlaw Partners. “What we do in Big Sky is just one component of how we give back to the riders, the athletes, the contractors, not only the money that we raise, but the experience that we give to our guests here at the Big Sky PBR.”

Their unwavering dedication to nurturing the cowboys and leading with a spirit of generosity has solidified their place at the top and made Outlaw Partners the ideal recipient for the 2024 WSF Great West Award.

“It means the world to us,” Paulson said. “It's such an honor to receive this award and recognition to preserving that for future generations.”

Outlaw Partners’ support for athletes directly aligns with WSF’s mission, and their aspiration to ignite a beacon of positivity beyond the boundaries of the Big Sky arena inspires others to aid in making a difference in the world of Western sports.
