The road may go on forever, but rodeoing doesn’t.  Planning for the next chapter doesn’t mean you stop chasing your dreams.  Your future self will thank you for the time you put to think through what comes next. 

Scholarships

Funds available for students seeking to enroll in a university, community college, technical school, or certification program. Requirements for eligibility include:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA 

  • High School seniors who are currently participating in rodeo or plan to continue competing in collegiate or pro/amateur rodeo  

  • Current and retired Pro athletes pursuing further education

WSF is proud to present the Fon McConnell Be Cowboy Scholarship, a $100,000 endowment created in memory of Fon McConnell. This scholarship will annually award up to ten $2,000 scholarships to current or retired Western sports athletes who demonstrate dedication to the Western way of life, cowboy values, and academic excellence.

Career Coaching

In partnership with Western Sports Foundation, Of The West provides athletes with the tools they need to build strong personal and professional networks, and also prepare them for what opportunities lie ahead for them after they exit the arena.  

Career coaching resources are available at a discounted rate through WSF providers.
